1st Leg

Ready for a laugh? I tried adjusting for the time difference by setting my alarm for 2:30 am. I did not get up. Sleep has a powerful pull and lured me back with audio book (Go Set a Watchman) and snugly blankets.

But I finally got up and staggered around throwing things in bags.

Witness:

Then we drove to Newark airport with more audio books (Ramona Quimby and the Hansel and Gretel Whatever After book).

We already made friends! A man going to Australia who regrets not giving his spare change to a homeless guy he saw in NYC - count him as friend #1. He can't use the money in Australia and hates the waste. Vivi and I suggested he give it as souvenirs to kids because kids like foreign currency. He felt better. 1st friend!

Then there was the woman Vivian told she has nice hair. And the woman Vivi complimented on her head scarf. And the couple who were enamoured with Chicky Wicky riding on Viv's carry-on bag.

Get ready for security.

Some things never change.

Out of security. Bag on!

Leaning Tower of Mommy.

Meet Jim, a retired teacher from Bradford County, PA, who spends a lot of time in Ireland.

And then! I met a lovely woman and her wee daughter who are flying home to...Belfast. She works in theatre in Belfast and we had a lovely conversation. The two cute girls hit it off and started chatting immediately.

Update at 7:00 pm: on board, but not bored.
